Deadline
MECPS online admission for Fall 2025 opens on October 1, 2024.
Priority Deadline: January 15
Subsequent Deadline: March 30
A completed application is required (transcripts and TOEFL/IELTS scores if applicable) and must be received by the application deadline. Â Letters of recommendation are optional, but highly encouraged.
To be full considered for the ECPS fellowships, applications must be completed by the deadline of January 15.
Admission Requirements
- Applicants are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering. Students from other disciplines are also considered for admission if they can demonstrate sufficient background in the basics of embedded systems.
- Undergraduate G.P.A. must be 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
- TOEFL Exam (applies to International applicants) minimum score of 80 or other evidence of English language proficiency
- GRE scores: The GRE exam is not required and will not be reviewed for this Admission cycle.

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their prior academic record and their potential for completing graduate-level work. Preference may be given to students whose backgrounds are in one of the target application areas of cyber-physical systems. Consideration will be given to students with relevant industry experience. Applicants are encouraged to include hands-on project experience, if any, in their statement of purpose.

The program fees for the MECPS Program are the same for all students: California residents, US citizens and non-US citizens.
